SIT HAPPENS – THE IRELAND TOUR

Practical seating education. Real-world solutions. A first for Ireland.

This October, MMS Medical in partnership with Blake Medical is bringing something very special to Cork, Limerick and Dublin.

For the first time in Ireland, Justin Boulos – aka ‘The Steve Irwin of Wheelchairs’ – is bringing his Sit Happens training to Irish clinicians for three in-person days of practical, engaging seating education.

Forget a day of sitting through slides and taking notes you’ll never look at again. Sit Happens is about what you actually do when you’re back with a client on Monday morning.

MEET JUSTIN BOULOS

Justin Boulos spent over a decade working as an Occupational Therapist in complex seating, which basically means he’s seen all the weird and wonderful postures you can imagine. Now he runs WheelieWorx, where his whole thing is making complex seating feel simple, logical and manageable. No more guesswork. He’s known for his step-by-step approach and for giving you the “what do I actually need to do?” systems you’ve been waiting for. His sessions are practical, a little bit fun, and very geared towards real-world challenges. Justin’s known for turning “I have no idea what I’m doing” into “I’ve got this” in about 60 minutes.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Morning – Real World Seating Assessments

What to do and how to resolve it, step by step.

Seating assessments don’t start with your hands. They start with a conversation. Justin will take you through the complete assessment process – identifying the real problem, setting meaningful goals, assessing posture using the resources you actually have and working through practical correction pathways for posterior pelvic tilt and pelvic obliquity.

The focus throughout is simple: If this, do this.

Afternoon – Demystifying Pressure Cushions

How they work and how to choose the right one.

With more than 100 pressure cushions on the market, how do you confidently narrow down the options?

Justin will open up the world of cushions – literally and figuratively – before introducing a nine-filter framework clinicians can use to eliminate unsuitable options, create a meaningful shortlist and make better-informed decisions based on the whole person, not simply the pressure specification.

YOU WON’T LEAVE WITH A STACK OF SLIDES!

Every attendee will leave with practical tools designed to be used in everyday clinical practice:

  • Assessment form to complete on the day
  • Step-by-step process for posterior pelvic tilt
  • Step-by-step process for pelvic obliquity
  • Cushion selection checklist to use with clients and suppliers

You don’t leave with notes. You leave with a system you can use everyday.

If you work in seating, posture management or wheelchair provision, this is one training day you won’t want to miss. The events will be free to attend, with each day running from approximately 9:00am to 2:30pm.

Sit Happens. Now you’ll know what to do when it does.
