MMS Medical was delighted to support the first patient focused conference held by Spinal Injuries Ireland. My Life Well Being conference was held in the RDS on Saturday 21st April. A super line up of inspiring and informative speakers on living with spinal cord injuries took to the stage during the day to share their stories , including Niek Van Den Adel, Annemarie de Vries-Postma , Suzanne Edwards, Kevan Baker OBE and Robert O’Byrne.

All speakers spoke of living with a spinal cord injury, their individual challenges and how best to meet these daily challenges. The importance of sport was a key message during the day and how participation in wheelchair sports and maintaining an exercise routine contributes to a healthier lifestyle. Robert O’Byrne talked about becoming a personal trainer after he sustained an spinal cord injury. He did a demonstration of what he does to keep fit with physiotherapist Lorenza Caffola. Key note speaker Annemarie de Vries Postma, aka the Sitting Chef, highlighted the importance of healthy eating for all.
