We provide a nationwide assessment and installation service so no matter where you are in Ireland we have an MMS Medical Team member close by.

Our priority is the health and safety of our employees and customers. We have put in place robust protocols and procedures to ensure safe installation of stairlifts at this time. Typically a Straight Stairlift can be fitted in 3-4 hours while a Curved stairlift will be installed in 5-6 hours.

A stairlift has three basic components: a track on which the stairlift travels, a power pack (drive unit) fitted to the track and thirdly the seat that most suits your needs is fitted to the power pack.

Broadly speaking stairlifts fall into two categories – Straight and Curved. If your home has a straight staircase that runs from a hall directly up to a landing, then a Straight Stairlift is the ideal option. If there are any bends, corners, intermediate landings then a curved stairlift is the correct option for your home.  Our stairlift product specialist will carry out an at home survey to determine the best track, seat and optional extras to meet your individual needs.

All our stairlifts are bespoke to your home so the price varies from customer to customer. Straight options are cheaper than curved options but we offer a complete range of stairlifts and extras at competitive prices. MMS Medical has earned the deserved reputation as a high quality provider of stairlifts in Ireland. We take great pride in the quality of our products and are committed to providing safe and reliable equipment for people with reduced mobility. All stairlift pricing includes VAT which can be claimed back following completion of purchase. Our customer support team will provide you with the necessary documentation for your claim.

Most staircase surveys are quick and easy to perform and will be carried out by prior appointment with one of our reliable stairlift product specialists virtually.

The complexity and configuration of your stairlift will determine how long it takes to manufacture your order. At MMS Medical we appreciate the difference a stairlift can make to the quality of life of the user and we aim to offer the shortest market lead time possible. As a leading supplier in the Irish market we have priority scheduling with our manufacturer Handicare.  Our team will advise you of delivery and lead times at time of order.

The complexity and configuration of your stairlift will determine how long it takes to fit your stairlift. In most cases it only takes a couple of hours. Our customer support team will arrange your stairlift installation at a date and time to suit you.

It is a popular misconception that stairlifts are fixed to the wall. This is rarely the case. Your new stairlift will be fitted to your staircase over your existing carpet not the wall. In some instances, you may need to have a handrail moved or a window sill reduced to avoid clashes with your new stairlift in which case some minor redecorating may be preferred.

Our highly skilled installers will fit your stairlift in a couple of hours and will ensure your home is neat and tidy after installation.

We are very conscious that some people worry about the operation of a stairlift. All our stairlifts are easy to use with simple operating toggle or joystick. The toggle is located at the end of the seat arm and it can be easily operate.

Some of our stairlift users have limited dexterity and have painful conditions such as arthritis however the signature operating toggle on our Handicare stairlifts minimises these problems by making the stairlift easy to use. As with our joystick control, the toggle can be fitted on whichever side of the stairlift is easiest for you to operate.

All stairlifts from MMS Medical come with two remote controls as standard, so you can have one upstairs and one downstairs. This means you can send your stairlift up and down the stairs without having to sit on it. This not only allows you to park it a the top or bottom of the stairs but is ideal for multi user situations.

At MMS Medical user safety is paramount. All our Handicare stairlifts have safety sensors on the power pack and footplate. These are designed to stop the lift if it meets any obstruction.

Your stairlift also comes with a safety belt as standard for additional piece of mind. MMS Medical offers a range of seat belt options including easy release, clip retractable seat belt or Velcro fastening option so you can find a safe solution to meet your needs.

Audible signals ( some models only ) will also alert you if your stairlift is not on a charge point. Using a stairlift in low light conditions such as a light bulb failing or darker winter days is safer than ever thanks to our illuminated powered footrest option. When the Elegance or Classic seat powered foot plate is unfolded, it is illuminated by a subtle LED light reducing the risk of the stairlift causing a trip hazard should the light source fail.

In a word: Yes. MMS Medical’s experienced installation team has fitted stairlifts to the trickiest of stairs all over Ireland. There is no problem with narrow or spiral staircases as we have stairlift options to suit most staircases even over multiple floors. Our stairlifts can be fitted to both older and new builds homes.

A stairlift offers great benefits and independence to the user and overcoming the difficulties of going up and down the stairs is a welcome support for other family members. All our stairlifts are designed to fit to your staircase perfectly and ensure safe accessibility for other stair users.

There’s no need to worry. A Handicare stairlift is operated by batteries, these will recharge when your stairlift is left on charge point. This means that your stairlift will continue to operate if the power supply is interrupted for a limited number of trips.

We all have concerns about our elderly relatives or neighbours particularly those living alone or with a medical condition.  Adding the Voice Connect option to a stairlift has given many users and family members a level of back up that resolves these types of concerns. With Voice Connect users can talk to one of three pre-programmed contacts from the stairlift seat should an emergency arise when using the stairlift. This is all at the touch of a button and is a simple solution to help users feel more confident about using their stairlift when alone at home.
